Splittrip – Privacy Policy

Splittrip ("the App") is developed by Amber Sinha. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Splittrip.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the App's features:

• Account information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and optionally your name and email address as provided by Apple.
• Trip and expense data: Trip names, expense amounts, member names, currencies, and balances you enter are stored in Firebase Firestore to enable real-time group sync.
• Profile information: Display name and optional profile photo you set within the App.
• AI prompts: When you use the AI Trip Finder or AI Trip Guide features, your answers and trip details are sent to the Anthropic API to generate responses. These are not stored by us beyond the duration of the request.
• Device data: Basic usage data may be collected by Firebase Analytics to help improve the App. No personally identifiable information is included.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To sync trip expenses and balances across group members in real time
• To generate AI-powered travel suggestions and itineraries
• To restore your purchases and manage your subscription
• To respond to support requests

3. Third-Party Services

Splittrip uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Anthropic: AI-powered trip planning features. Your prompts are processed by Anthropic's API. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases and subscription management. Apple Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage and Security

Your trip and expense data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Sign in with Apple ensures your Apple ID credentials are never shared with us directly.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile tab within the App. Upon deletion, all your trip data, expense records, and profile information will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Splittrip is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Advertising

Splittrip does not display advertisements and does not share your data with advertising networks.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
